what we did:
reviewed answers to the practice test. You have a quiz on Unit 4 on Friday, 1/9.
Took a pretest assessing student understanding of slope and slope-intercept form.
discussed test format: 15 multiple choice = 15 points, 18 open ended = 60 points. 80 minutes in length. The material covered on the test includes the following: from unit 2 (notes pages 30-35, HW pages 24-26), and unit 3 (all).
self-directed study: I recommended a method of studying for the test where the student turns to an example in their notes, takes a blank sheet of paper and covers up the work for the example, exposing just the problem itself. The student works out the example on the sheet of paper, and then compares their work to that which is under the paper. In this way, the student works to check and clarify their understanding.
